Move-In Day 2

Ahoy!

Well today was a lot better! I got all my stuff in and set up. My room mate Chuck moved in today and
we were able to get the whole room set up! It is definitely looking a lot better!

More sailing today, I feel like I am starting to get the hang of it. The school has a 1 design 48 foot racing sailboat. The team consists of 14 people where everyone has their own job and that job is really fast paced. I am on the "grinder," whic
h is a big winch that cranks in the jib/spinnaker. I am the biggest guy on the team and naturally do the grinding. I am really enjoying it and hopefully I can keep on board even with my weight.

After sailing I went and hung out with some of the guys on the floor, got settled in a little more and waited for mom to come pick me up so I could get the TV for the room.

Got the TV, it gets like 30 channels, all of which are coming in fuzzy (so much for the HDTV) but they say that is suppose to get fixed soon.

The other guy in our suite (2 rooms share one bathroom) is fluent in Swedish and his father lives in Stockholm!! I had a nice talk to him during the BBQ tonight which was undercooked hamburger, overcooked beans, and perfect corn-on-the-cob.
My first night on the ship, we'll see what happens and how well I sleep. I am currently watching NCAAFB and relaxing in the room.

Cheers!

  1. Whoa. Your room is really big! Except the opposite of that.
